FAITH IN ART
Exploring their own definitions of ugliness and beauty, the art collective Openings has arrived at more than a few surprising answers for their new cheekily titled exhibit God Doesnt Like Ugly. The 15 artists of Openings, whose mission it is to look at the connection between creativity and spirituality, each give their unique take on the theme through paintings, drawings, mixed media, installations, sculptures, and photography. From Tom Bovos colorful city-inspired pieces to the twisted paintings of former Catholic school boy Joey Kilrain, to the dazzling personal collage work and photographs by the Voices own Araceli Cruz, theres not an ugly piece in the bunch. Opening party from 7 to 9 on October 1.
