Dir. Walt Disney (1940). The kitschiest, most bombastic of early Disney animations—an attempt to bring Beethoven and Stravinsky (and Grieg and Mussorsky) to the masses—is not without its primitive pleasures. At least it left an indelible impression on this six year old.
