Born Francelina Durão Almeida in 1956, the Cape Verde singer who now lives in Park Slope performs a lighter, more r&b-influenced version of the traditional morna sound brought to the world by her former mentor, Cesaria Evora. She'll be accompanied here by a quintet (featuring the small Portuguese cavaquinho guitar) and her fabulous afro.
