As long as front man Jonah Matranga doesn't let his soaring vocals lift his ego too high, as long as guitarist Shaun Lopez and bassist John Gutenberger don't try to stomp out each other's riffs, as long as the reunited Far, as a band, don't release any more tongue-in-cheek r&b covers (as they did with Ginuwine's "Pony" this year), and as long as they don't try to top their 1998 classic proto-emo/alt-metal swansong Water & Solutions on their decade-too-late upcoming next record. . . this might work. With Last Days of the Empire and the Campbell Apartment.
