On The Late Show with David Letterman, Lower East Side native and fast-rising comedian Michael Che said he thinks he’s liberal (“because I’m poor and I’m black”), but worries that he might actually be conservative because he listens to rap: “I didn’t give money to Mitt Romney’s campaign, but I did buy Kanye West tickets and that’s similar; I basically just gave somebody money to listen to how irresponsibly he wanted to spend my money.” Since his first stand-up show in 2010, Che has been hitting stand-up clubs all over town, and as a recent guest writer on Saturday Night Live, he had quick success (perhaps you remember the trailer for the romantic comedy She’s Got a D!%k with Justin Timberlake). Tonight, catch him at Upright Citizens Brigade for his show “Dirty Crayons,” which is described as “dirty, colorful, and playful.”
