French electro-pop gents Air describe themselves via MySpace as "a Frisbee that never lands." Yeah, that or girls—I've yet to collect on a long-won bet with a friend who insisted 2004's Talkie Walkie was sung without the Y chromosome. But their delicate, gauzy pop would sound saccharine without their equally graceful falsettos and psychedelic imagery; after breaking through with 2000's The Virgin Suicides soundtrack, and the devastating "Playground Love" that transcended Sofia Coppola's bleak film, the duo have toured the world and steadily shipped out great, ambient trip-pop. Last year's Love 2 was a happy experiment in buoyancy that not even a "Tropical Disease" could diminish. With AM.
