At a time when channel-surfing is as habit-forming as crack, 60x60 Dance takes our technologically induced A.D.D. to the next level by returning with a fresh mix of music and dance surfing: 60 modern dancers moving to the music of 60 international composers in a 60-minute multimedia extravaganza with each performance being 60 seconds long. Yupthats how short it takes (they hope) for each of their messages to get across. And to prove it, the collectives provided an analogue clock onstage for you to keep them on schedule. With so many opportunities to hold your attention, expect the dance styles and tunes to be diverse: Youll see ballet, tango, and postmodern, while medieval chants, chamber, pop, jazz, and electronica will be ringing in your ears. Robert Voisey directs the rapid-fire proceedings with choreography assembly by Jeramy Zimmerman.
