Is E.T. out there somewhere in space? The Obama administration doesn’t think so. It recently stated: “The U.S. government has no evidence that any life exists outside our planet.” Obviously they haven’t seen Alien! The 1979 Ridley Scott thriller clearly depicts what can go wrong when a huge, unearthly creature, ugly and murderous—at that—wreaks havoc on an unsuspecting spaceship crew. This Thanksgiving weekend, kick off the holiday right by cheering on the ass-kicking Ellen Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) as she takes on the fanged extraterrestrials. Then, mark your calendars for December 9 and 10, when Aliens, the James Cameron–directed sequel, lands at IFC.
