For his newest documentary, Encounters at the End of the World, German filmmaker Werner Herzog (whose last documentary, Grizzly Man, ended with the remains of a couple who were eaten alive by a bear) traveled to the wilds of Antarctica to capture the men and women who risk their lives daily for their scientific research. As Herzog is notorious for having troublesome shoots (the actor Klaus Kinski once attacked the director on-set), tonights discussion, led by Oscar-winning filmmaker Jonathan Demme, should be highly entertaining. A reception follows the talk.
