Indie rock’s fascination with early ’90s r&b yields appropriately juicy fruit on the new album by Lemonade, three synth-loving San Franciscans who now live in New York. Titled Diver, the record peaks with a pair of ditties—“Neptune” and “Softkiss”—in which singer Callan Clendenin sets his boyish vocals adrift on memory bliss; the latter even resurrects a lyric from “Every Little Step” by Bobby Brown. Tonight, Lemonade celebrate Diver’s release with a sure-to-be-packed Music Hall of Williamsburg gig that also kicks off their North American tour. (They’ll be back in town June 21 at the Brooklyn Museum, FYI.) Fellow travelers Teengirl Fantasy open the show.
