Fujiya & Miyagi
Brighton blokes Fujiya & Miyagi take a page from the Krautrock school of electronic ambience while adding pithy lyrics sung in an almost sinister sneer. Although the songs can blend together with their plodding tempos and lo-fi white noise, moments of brilliance emerge, quickening the pulse with retro synths and danceable bass lines. David Best’s laconic vocals lull you to sleep while the abrupt time signature changes and playful percussion begs for black lights and fog machines.
