Every three years, the New Museum presents the Generational Triennial, an exhibition featuring the best emerging contemporary artists in the world, as it did this past year with “The Ungovernables.” Tonight’s Next Generation Party, a benefit for the museum’s 2015 Generational Triennial, celebrates the future of art and technology with the upcoming wave of cultural creatives. Party hosts include New Museum director Lisa Phillips and curators Lauren Cornell, director of the New Museum’s affiliate and new media platform rhizome.org, and Ryan Trecartin, a video and installation artist featured in the first Generational, in 2009. Dance the night away to a performance by pop duo Teengirl Fantasy and a DJ set by Physical Therapy, and maybe even meet someone new to go gallery hopping with.
