While Orlando Bloom rides around on a motorcycle as Romeo on Broadway, two-time Tony-winner Mark Rylance dons a lady’s wig in Twelfth Night to perform Shakespeare in the most traditional way possible: with an all-male cast. Coming from a sold-out run in London, Twelfth Night runs in repertory with Richard III, starring Rylance as the deformed king. And just as shows used to be done in the Bard’s day, actors dress and do their makeup onstage for the audience, music is played on traditional instruments, and 100 candles illuminate the set.
