It's been more than 20 years since alternative-era miserablists Gin Blossoms formed, 17 since their breakthrough album New Miserable Experience came out, 16 since their prime hit-writer Doug Hopkins (whom they fired just after recording their quadruple-platinum LP) committed suicide, 12 years since they broke up, seven since their reunion, three since their tepid last studio record, and two months since they released a live album with a cover of Elton John's "Rocket Man" on it.
