Glenn Kotche & Victoire
The Wilco drummer teams up with composer Missy Mazzoli's all-female ensemble for an evening of world premieres commissioned by Carnegie Hall: Kotche's Bells and Honey was composed on drum kit and arranged for Victoire; Mazzoli's Vespers for a New Dark Age replaces the traditional liturgy with Matthew Zapruder’s words about technology, ghosts, and God; and John Luther Adams’s Ilimaq, for solo percussion, recounts a shaman's journey into the spirit world and back.
