Glows in the Dark+Fight the Big Bull
Let's hear it for radical regionalism: Two left-leaning outfits from Richmond, Virginia are taking over the Loisaida holy ground for the evening. The Bull boys follow leader Matt White down several dark alleys, messing with everyonefrom Mingus to Shepp to the Art Ensemblethey encounter. The nonet's rambunctious Dying Will Be Easy is a blast. Their Glowing pals are cineastes who make wily and dramatic jazz that cues off of film. They spent Halloween saluting John Carpenter, and have gone through a Two Lane Blacktop phase. From screech to smooch, they make lots of sense.
