GO TO CHURCH
If the only thing that will get you into a house of worship is the altar wine, then St. Cecilias in Greenpoint might convince you to convert. The former nuns convent is now a four-story, 40-room gallery that hosts exhibitions for the increasingly artsy, decreasingly religious neighborhood. And like any good gallery, there are opening parties with drink specials. Like tonight, for instance: Art collective Openings hosts a group exhibition, 32 Below, featuring painting, photography, and sculpture from three dozen artists, including the Voices own Araceli Cruz. The reception uses the space wisely, planting performance art and music throughout. Just steer clear of any deserted corners; the ghosts of nuns past have been known to make appearances.
Fri., Feb. 11, 7 p.m.; Mondays-Sundays, 2 p.m. Starts: Feb. 11. Continues through Feb. 19, 2011
