GOLDEN GATE GYPSIES
When the indignant-sewn spandex of American Apparel just wont withstand the elements (those being a light breeze and upward), the Lorimer Street dwellers flock to Petes Candy Store for cheap beer, low lighting, and the weirdly adorable homespun shows that fill the back stage nightly. Tonights event is warm and nurturing, like lo-fi chicken soup: San Francisco sextet Gaucho winds klezmer and Brazilian choros influences into their mellow strain of gypsy jazz (patent pending?), while local seethe-rockers Finding Fiction would be right at home in a Strokes/Tool group hugbefore the certain violence broke. With the Browns, who are not the good-time 60s family band.
