Further proof that Virgos throw the best parties: estimable vibraphone player and composer Roy Ayers celebrates his 70th birthday with gusto at "Everybody Loves the Sunshine," his global premiere of works commissioned by Bay Area player collective the Jazz Mafia. Ayers, a thrilling mainstay in the New York scene, has cut his chops in funk and blues as well, and released 1980's divine Music of Many Colors with Fela Kuti.
