The music video for “Vomit,” the lead single from Girls’ recent Father, Son, Holy Ghost, finds the duo’s frontman cruising the city, in more ways than one, from the cockpit of a 1966 Ford Mustang Convertible. And despite the sexual undertones, the video focuses its gaze almost exclusively on the automobile, a melancholy metonym for a time long past, if it ever existed in the first place. But that’s Girls, pathologically late to a party whose only remaining traces are the papered-over posters hung from the lampposts. Catch them tonight with Real Estate and King Krule.
