Granta Magazine With Julie Otsuka
Granta's 117th issue explores horror in the human mind and its connection to the unknown and the sublime. The issue contains 13 new works of fiction, poetry, memoir, reportage, and mixed-media images, including the short story Diem Perdidi by Julie Otsuka. Otsuka, who was just named a 2011 National Book Awards finalist for her novel about Japanese mail-order brides, The Buddha in the Attic, discusses horror in literature with Granta editor John Freeman and emerging author Rajesh Parameswaran, who will publish his first collection of short stories in 2012.
