Hernan Romero

From the pampas of Buenos Aires to the beaches of Cadiz in Andalusia, Spain, flamenco guitarist Hernan Romero inhabits a world of extremes. A longtime collaborator of Al Di Meola, Romero transmutes the seductive language of Piazzolla, Segovia, and Ginastera through the Argentinean zonda, a hot, dry wind that sweeps through the plains during summer and fall. Or at least it feels that way. It's the type of sound that makes you want to take up the castanets, whisper sweet nothings into the ear of the stranger sitting next to you, or that momentarily makes you believe that you can dance the tango with two left feet.
