Just because the U.S. premiere of the third season of Downton Abbey isn’t until January 6 doesn’t mean we Americans can’t obsess over the show while we wait. And the best way to do so is with tonight’s talk with two ladies who know the show just as well as creator Julian Fellowes: Carol Wallace, author of To Marry an English Lord, the book Fellowes used as the show’s primary inspiration, and Fellowes’s niece, Jessica Fellowes, who has written two books on the show, The World of Downton Abbey and The Chronicles of Downton Abbey. They’ll be discussing details of the show as well as the turn-of-the-century trend among noble British men to find beautiful American heiresses (such as Lady Cora) to financially prop up their own declining fortunes.
