In From the Horse’s Mouth, veteran performers Tina Croll and Jamie Cunningham showed us how dancers talk, always inventing and sharing movement, in an evening-length work that the dance world has lapped up. See it at tonight’s gala presentation celebrating the centenary of Frederic Franklin. Dancers who knew and loved the British ballet star, many from American Ballet Theatre, perform in tribute. Saturday and Sunday’s performances feature a new, all-male version of the venerable score, hoofbeats included. Several generations of ballet, modern, and tap practitioners appear, including notable scenesters like Carmen de Lavallade, Kevin McKenzie, Gus Solomons Jr., Jacques d’Amboise, Steven Melendez, Tony Waag, Marge Champion, and dozens more.
