Hour of the Wolf
Dir. Ingmar Bergman (1967).
One of Bergman's weirdest, this surreal Gothic fantasy concerns an artist (Max von Sydow) who vanishes, leaving only a diary through which we move into flashbacks and his nightmares and obsessions are revealed. The title refers to the period between night and dawn when the devil is believed to be at his most powerful.
