For his third solo show at Team Gallery, 32-year-old artist Ryan McGinley wanted his subjects to be completely nude—a slight departure from the layered-up snowboarders and skiers he photographed for the 2010 Winter Olympics' spread for New York Times Magazine. And although McGinley's aesthetic is capturing youth in the raw—meaning naked, and typically with clear skies, forests, or farm fields as a backdrop—he is now removing the landscape to photograph the person alone. Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere is a black-and-white series of portraitures featuring pretty young subjects from all over the world (and also includes three large-scale images in color) that leave you with nothing to focus on except each model's state of mind.
