Jacquot de Nantes
Dir. Agnes Varda (1991).
Vardas biography of her late husband Jacques Demy dramatizes a future directors precocious obsession with cinema. Its also an act of explication, predicated on continual cross-referencing of Demys movie and life. Switching between her footage and his, Jacquot is a complex work of reconstruction as well as Varda's means for keeping Demy alive.
