Jaojoby+Razia Said+Charles Kely+Saramba
Malagasy star Jaojoby and friends make a rare local appearance on their Wake Up Madagascar Tour, an effort to raise international consciousness about the environmental plundering and climate-change problems plaguing their nation. Jaojoby and wife Saramba play salegy, the country's stuttering 6/8 dance sound. Charles Kely is a terrific acoustic guitarist, while singer Razia Said was raised in Madagascar, studied pharmacology in France, and currently resides in Harlem.
