Those seeking a little “release” might be disappointed by The World’s Biggest Jerk-Off, but if you’re a fan of chewy, meaty snacking, you’re in luck. The Bell House hosts this competition to find the very best jerky in Brooklyn, inviting amateur chefs to throw their dried treats into the ring. The first jerk-off welcomed turkey, pork, venison, and seitan rendered in chewy, salty, delicious form. This year’s iteration is judged by experts from the Kings County Jerky Company and Brooklyn Beef Jerky, but you can decide for yourself by picking up a ticket for and sampling the wares, which, FYI, last for months without refrigeration. So take some home with you and stock up for next winter’s polar vortex.
