The Scud Mountain Boys/Chappaquiddick Skyline/Big Tobacco/Pernice Brothers dude is currently on tour supporting his debut novel, It Feels So Good When I Stop, and its companion soundtrack, on which Pernice offers bemused bummer-folk takes on such oldies-radio staples as "I'm Your Puppet" and "I Go to Pieces." The book traces a familiar narrativeit's "the story of a deeply flawed but irrepressibly likable hero stumbling towards adulthood," per the author's own websitebut Pernice brings his usual sadsack charm to the proceedings.
