La Ronde

Dir. Max Ophuls (1950). Few movies are more “Viennese” than Ophuls’s ultra-civilized sex comedy. Following a particular erotic daisy chain across the social classes, Ophuls is more romantic than the Arthur Schnitzler original which concerned not a carousel of love but venereal disease.
Wednesdays-Fridays, 1:30 p.m. Starts: Jan. 4. Continues through Jan. 6, 2012
