The second annual Eugene Mirman Comedy Festival, which, naturally, started as a joke between Mirman and his friends, is the antithesis to those mainstream comedy festivals with big commercial sponsors. For instance, at this four-day event held at the Bell House and Union Hall in Brooklyn, you can buy one of two special packages: the VIP Titanium Douche Bag Package for $10,000, or the VIP Silver Asshole Package for $5,000 (which includes "brief eye contact with Eugene Mirman"). At tonight's opening party, check out performances by Kristen Schaal, Pete Holmes, and Daniel Kitson, and videos from Tim & Eric, Leo Allen, and Max Silvestri. Later in the weekend, catch "Witty Cartoons for Snobs," in which cartoonists from The New Yorker and other publications battle it out in a "cartoon-off."
