Lee Konitz & Mark Turner Quartet
If idiosyncrasy is on your holiday wish-list, this intergenerational sax pairing should fulfill nicely. The veteran alto master often leaps in wonderfully unexpected directions, and his tenor-toting associate hears things in a quite individual way as well. One past meeting proved their rapport to be obvious. Further, the intergenerational rhythm section (ladies and gentlemen, Tootie Heath!) is sure to bolster the perpetual volley of the Konitz/Turner reed exchanges. Will they be walking through the Marshlands?
