The Argentine pianist flips roles with his usual boss, Esperanza Spalding, and takes over the helm in celebration of his third album, and first major statement, Seeds. Genovese glides among his electronic and acoustic keyboards with nimble nonchalance. Enjoy echoes of Wayne Shorter, Joe Zawinul, and '70s Keith Jarrett; Argentine and Brazilian traditionalism; and elfin-hula electronics. Genovese's combo will include Brian Landrus (bass sax), JP Jofre (bandoneon!), Ricardo Vogt (guitar), and the great Bob Gulloti (drums), in addition to Spalding (expanding her solely vocal role on his album).
