LET’S TALK ABOUT SEX
The book Fifty Shades of Grey is certainly getting a lot of ink as of late—mostly because of its steamy plot filled with BDSM (translation for the prude: bondage and discipline/dominance and submission/sadism and masochism). But for a more intellectual approach to sex, tonight's event with Rachel Kramer Bussel, the sexpert and editor of Best Sex Writing 2012, should be just as, er, stimulating. Hear excerpts from the best journalism and essays about sexuality from contributors Ellen Friedrichs, Lynn Harris, Amanda Marcotte, Joan Price, Abby Tallmer, Rachel Rabbit White, and our own Camille Dodero (her Voice cover story "Guys Who Like Fat Chicks" is included). A Q&A will follow on topics such as sex work; aging and sexuality; teenagers and sex laws; political sex scandals; drag shows; and the gentrification of the West Village.
Wed., April 25, 7 p.m., 2012
