LIFE OF LENNON
The odd-couple sight of Mayor Bloomberg and Yoko Ono chumming it up on the streets of the Upper West Side might seem all out of sorts (but what a great sitcom that would make!). However, two weeks ago, that's just what happened in front of the Dakota as the two announced the release of LENNONYC, a new documentary by filmmaker Michael Epstein about John Lennon's final years living and working in NYC. On the occasion of what would have been the British icon's 70th birthday on October 9, the Paley Center is kicking off The Life of John Lennon, a multimedia, three-month-long exhibit including film screenings, rare photos, and discussions. Tonight, catch a special preview screening of LENNONYC before the birthday celebration gets underway. LENNONYC will also screen for free at Rumsey Playfield in Central Park at 7 on October 9, go to thirteen.org/lennon for more information.
