LIGHT IT UP
Eek-A-Mouse fans be warned: The legend got himself booted off this lineup for making racially insensitive remarks aimed at some of his fellow performers at the Carifest C.A.R.E.S press conference. Can you blame him, though? The other headliners are Matisyahu, the wildly popular Hasidic Jewish reggae artist, and Slightly Stoopid, whove been fusing reggae into their rock for years, all in the name of getting stoned. The eccentric, sometimes erratic Lee Scratch Perry will play, too, but otherwise, not another Jamaican in the headlining bunch. Still, this concert, celebrating the 10th anniversary of Carifest, will donate some of the proceeds to the charity Keep a Child Alive, which sees far beyond color. Also with Midnite, Kayla Bliss, Uriel Hamilton, Meta & the Cornerstones, Causion, Joseph Israel, and Groundation.
