LIKE A BIRTHDAY

In the early ’80s, just as Madonna was getting her feet wet with audiences, she went on American Bandstand and told Dick Clark that her ultimate goal was to rule the world. Well, more than 20 years later, not only does Madonna rule the world, but she’s also made it one hell of a party. In honor of the Material Girl’s 50th birthday, the Seventh Annual Madonnathon invites you to vogue it up with your best Madonna look—whether it’s a fishnet top or a pointy brazier—and sing the hits onstage (performed by backing band the Material Boys); prizes will be awarded. The party, hosted by Cathy Cervenka, also includes performances by Madonna impersonator Chris America, Patti Rothberg, the Dazzle Dancers, and Tammy Faye Starlite, among others. We wonder if A-Rod will be there.
