Enough about Studio 54. Get the dirty details about another wild New York nightclub in American Swing, a new doc that remembers the beloved sex club Plato's Retreat. Located in the unlikely neighborhood of the Upper West Side, in the basement of the historic Ansonia building, couples flocked to "King of Swing" Larry Levenson's adult playground to forget their late-'70s worries (there was an economic crisis then, too). Directed and produced by Matthew Kaufman and Jon Hart, who covered Plato's Retreat for the Voice, American Swing appears as the closing-night selection for the winter season of "Stranger Than Fiction," a weekly documentary series at IFC. Kaufman and Hart will be on hand for a Q&A following the screening.
