Together, Flatbush Zombies, a pair of Brooklyn weirdos devoted to soft drugs and tight rhymes, and Bodega Bamz, the Spanish Harlem rapper whose October mixtape, Strictly 4 My P.A.P.I.Z., remains one of the year’s most slept-on, represent some of the most encouraging signs of a life from a once-dormant New York City hip-hop scene. Their joint track “Thrilla,” filled with lyrics and string stabs fit for a slasher film, offers enough energy to power the whole tristate. When they perform it
tonight, either move to the bar or brace yourself for a mosh pit worthy of a hardcore show.
