In Neil LaBute’s play, a character concludes, beauty “has no real value with anything important or tangible in our lives.” I feel the same way about LaBute’s work, but strong notices have ordained his latest play’s transfer to Broadway. It concerns two working-class couples and various truisms about physical appearance.
