LUTE! GUITAR! ACTION!
Strange though their pairing might seem, cult filmmaker Jim Jarmusch and Dutch lute whiz Jozef van Wissem have history: Last October, for instance, Jarmusch sat in with van Wissem during the latter’s artist-in-residence gig at ISSUE Project Room. Tonight, though, the two fringe-dwellers hit the same venue (albeit in its new Livingston Street space) to introduce a new full-on collaborative LP rather grandly titled Concerning the Entrance Into Eternity; it finds Jarmusch accompanying van Wissem with drone-style guitar and a reading from St. John
of the Cross.
