This Queens-based, Colombia-sourced octet blends Africa-rooted styles like champeta and porro brass band music with a post-punk jazz gusto reminiscent of '80s British jazz-rockers like Pigbag and Rip Rig + Panic. The octet's deep, often dubby sound tears through the fabric of tradition with drums, electronics, horns, and a klezmer-tinged clarinet. They'll be hawking their new “Music Never Dies” EP here.
