Schneider's music has long sounded "orchestral," and she recently debuted her first real classical song cycle, "Carlos Drummond de Andrade Stories." Don't expect gravitas or soprano vocals to overwhelm the buoyant, often Brazilian-tinged arrangements punctuated by fine soloists, who will include saxophonist Donny McCaslin, trumpeter Ingrid Jensen, and accordionist Gary Versace.
