The punk-jazz percussionist brings his excellent new quartet to town for the first time. With Carly Myers on trombone and the raspy-voiced bandleader concentrating on vibes, the group combines Roxy-era Zappa-esque virtuosity and melodicism with Dead Kennedys spleen. Their new Band of Outsiders mixes agitprop like “Homeland Insecurity" with the shamanistic "Carly Hates the Dubstep." Also: singer-songwriter Ryan Montbleau.
