It doesn’t need to be Halloween to have a good fright. All summer, the Phantom Creep Theatre has been bringing ghosts and ghouls to Coney Island with shows that blend rare films with live performances. Tonight, for its final show of the summer, it explores the legend of Godzilla and Japan’s other famous monsters. The evening includes a rare presentation of the 1960s cult film Golden Bat, one of Japan’s first superheroes; a rare presentation of an episode of the sci-fi horror series Ultra Q; and a live performance of the group’s new play, Godzilla Invades Lemuria. Count Moloch (a/k/a “the Master of Scare-a-monies”) hosts the show.
Sat., Sept. 1, 8 p.m., 2012
