With a name like theirs, it's not hard to gather what Morcheeba is all about. But while the British combo found late-'90s success as stoned and simmering trip-hop standard-bearers, most of the hash smoke eventually cleared to reveal a solid modern pop band with a potpourri of dusty grooves, swank '60s soundtrack nods, and the captivating vocal presence of Skye Edwards. She's back in the band after spending a few records' time elsewhere, and Morcheeba's new material harkens directly to their golden era.
