'Morrissey's 50th Birthday Party with Kaki King'
It's admirable that King wants to be remembered as a quality string-plucker rather than a female guitarist but, in 2009, that's still not possible. It's not her faulthow many female guitarists get played up nowadays, anyway? In any case, she does deserve to stand out with her bag of tricks, including tapping, slapping, and looping her instrument: after all, Les Claypool's been idolized for much of the same. Since she's playing on a bill that's toasting Morrissey, it'll be even more interesting to see how she attempts Johnny Marr's legacy instead of Moz's.
