Mr. Ho's Orchestra
The quartet version of the mellow 22-piece exotica-revival ensemble led by composer-vibraphonist Brian O'Neillplaying tonight alongside Jon Singer (xylophone), Kendall Eddy (bass), and Geni Skendo (woodwinds)focuses on originals inspired by the quietly riotous sounds of Martin Denny, Les Baxter, Juan Garcia Esquivel, and their deceptively smooth ilk. Jazz, classical, and Pacific island music blend into a mellifluous and only slightly kitschy brain bath.
