Murder in Harlem
(Oscar Micheaux, 1935).
A black security guard is framed for the murder of a young girl. Also known as Lem Hawkins Confession, this is Oscar Micheauxs take on the Leo Frank caseor one of them. (He made his first in 1921 and adapted this from one of his novels.) The style is pure Micheaux and to make sure you dont forget it, the hero Henry Glory is an obvious surrogate for the director.
